In our quest to bridge the material and spiritual worlds, and to discover the grand unification theory of everything, one basic question emerges. What is the nature of spiritual “substance” and what are its properties?
If we can answer that question, it may be possible to engineer technologies to measure this substance and put it to practical uses, such as in visualizing the subtle body for diagnosis and healing; creating portals for interdimensional communication, materialization and transport; learning how both the material and spiritual universes are really constructed; and triggering an evolutionary leap both personally and collectively.
There are many hypotheses as to the nature of this “immaterial” substance.
– Is it made of the “ethers” that the ancients talked about (now enjoying a resurgence).
– Does it relate to morphic resonance (Rupert Sheldrake’s hypothesis)?
– Is it an emotional state that permeates the universe, like “love.”?
– Is it a fundamental geometric form?
– Is it pure consciousness, or some aspect of consciousness, mapped out by ancient and modern navigators.
– Is it a component of the standard model of particle physics, or one of the strings in string theory, or a quantum phenomenon?
– Will its nature be completely obvious from one of the many theories of reality proposed in the physics community.
– Can it be found in one of the spiritual narratives such as the Urantia Book, the Oahspe book, the Cayce readings, Rudolph Steiner, or the numerous channeled texts that have proliferated in recent years.
– Do our friends in the OBE, NDE, UFO, Ghost, ITC, Radionics, and “spiritually enlightened” communities have something concrete to offer to this puzzle?
I am advocating for a deep dive into all of these areas and more, in search of an answer to this basic question. It is truly a final frontier – well worth the effort!
